MY GUIDE
From The Book of Wisdom
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Prov.17
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not
in your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall
direct your paths. Do not be wise in
your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your
flesh, and strength to your bones. Prov. 35-8
Honor the Lord with your possessions, And with the
first fruits of all your increase; so your bans will be filled with plenty, and
your vats will overflow with new wine. Prov.39-10
Do not be afraid of sudden terror, nor of trouble from
the wicked when it comes; for the Lord will be your confidence, and keep your
foot from being caught. Prov.325-26
Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
if it is in the power of your hand to do so. Prov.327
Do not say to your neighbor, “Go and come back, and
tomorrow I will give it,” When you have it with you.
Do not devise evil against your neighbor, for
he dwells by you for safety’s sake. Do
not strive with a man without cause, if he has done you no harm. Prov.328-30
Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice with the
wife of your youth. As a loving deer and
a graceful doe, let her breast satisfy you at all times; and always be
enraptured with her love. Prov.518-19 to keep you from the evil
woman, from the flattering tongue of a seductress. Do not lust after her beauty in your heart, nor
let her allure you with her eyelids. For
by means of a harlot a man is reduced to a crust of bread; and an
adulteress will prey upon his precious life.
Can a man take fire to his bosom, and his cloth not be burned? Can one
walk on hot coals, and his feet not be seared?
So is he who goes in to his neighbor’s wife; whoever touches her shall
not be innocent. Prov.624-29 The mouth of an immoral woman is a deep
pit; he who is abhorred by the Lord will fall there. Prov.2214 Whoever
commits adultery with a woman lacks understanding; He who does so destroys his
own soul. Wounds and dishonor he will
get, and his reproach will not be wiped away.
For jealousy is a husband’s fury; therefore he will not spare in the day
of vengeance. He will accept no
recompense, nor will he be appeased though you give many gifts. Prov.632-35
Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and
be wise, which, having no captain, overseer or ruler, provides her supplies in
the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest. How long will you slumber, o sluggard? When
will you rise from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, A little
folding of the hands to sleep—so shall your poverty come on you like a prowler,
and your need like an armed man. Prov.66-11 In all labor there is
profit, but idle chatter leads only to poverty. Prov.1423 The desire
of the lazy man kills him, for his hands refuse to labour. He covets greedily all day long. Prov.2125
He who has a slack hand becomes poor, but the hand of the diligent makes
rich. He who gathers in summer is a wise
son; he who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame. Prov.104-5
Wealth gained by
dishonesty will be diminished, but he who gathers by labor will increase. Prov.1311 A good man leaves
an inheritance to his children’s children, but the wealth of the sinner is
stored up for the righteous. Prov.1322 Do not overwork to be rich; because of your own understanding, cease!
Prov.234 He who increases his possessions by usury and extortion
gathers it for him who will pity the poor. Prov. 288 Do not
rob the poor because he is poor, nor oppress the afflicted at the gate; for the
Lord will lead their cause, and plunder the soul of those who plunder them. Prov.2222-23
He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, and He will pay back
what he has given. Prov.1917 Whoever shuts his ears to the cry of
the poor will also cry himself and not be heard. Prov.2113
There is one who scatters, yet increases more; and
there is one who withholds more than is
right, but it leads to poverty. The
generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered
himself. The people will curse him who
withholds grain. But blessing will be on the head of him who sells it. Prov.1124-26
Two things I request of You (Deprive me not before I
die):
Remove falsehood and
lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches-- Feed me with the food allotted to me; lest I be full and deny You, and say, “Who is
the Lord?” Or lest I be poor and steal, and profane the name of my God.
He who corrects a scoffer gets shame for himself, and
he who rebukes a wicked man only harms himself.
Do not correct a scoffer, lest he hate you; Rebuke a wise man, and he
will love you. Give instruction to a
wise man, and he will be wiser; teach a just man, and he will increase in
learning. Prov.97-9
The righteous should choose his friends carefully, for
the way of the wicked leads them astray. Prov.1226 He who goes about as a talebearer reveals
secrets; therefore do not associate with one who flatters with his lips. Prov.2019
Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful. Prov.276
Seldom set foot in your neighbor’s house, lest he become weary of you and hate
you. Prov.2517
He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever
confesses and forsakes them will have mercy. Prov.2813.
These six things the Lord hates, yes, seven are an
abomination to Him:
1.
A
proud look,
2.
A
lying tongue,
3.
Hands
that shed innocent blood,
4.
A
heart that devises wicked plans,
5.
Feet
that are swift in running to evil,
6.
A
false witness who speaks lies,
7.
And
one who sows discord among brethren.
Prov.616-19
Thank you
Lord Jesus for your faithfulness.
